Welcome
Greetings and welcome to the website for Troop 570. While we anticipate it being useful for our Troop communications, We hope it will be useful to you in choosing Troop 570 as your Scouting family
Who are we?
We are chartered by Quinn Chapel AME. We began small in 2002 [ ScoutMaster Mr M ] with just 3 cubs that bridged from Pack 570. Over the years, our numbers have fluctuated and currently we have 14 registered scouts. We have for the most part been considered a mini troop across the district but now we are a minor Troop with an arrow! Anticipating the bridging of Webelos from the Pack and our summer at camp Olmsted at Goshen Scout reservation .
George Carswell is the current Scoutmaster with three Assistants. As the Troop grows in Scouts, we are aware that we are guiding boys into manhood and helping them to develop character. The thing that we are very proud about, in addition to our consistency - is our diversity. We have I think the most diverse group of scouts among any of the other Troops not just in the district but I think the council
Troop membership is open to boys 11-18 years old, finished 5th grade or earned the Arrow of Light while a member of a pack. Scouts can join any time during the year.
It is our hope to offer the scouting experience to boys and make it possible to participate regardless of ability to pay.
